Linden Realms Game

We realized fairly quick when we began the journey through the Lindens Realm game that ain't the easiest hunt that either of us has ever done. My virtual daughter decided to venture on her own to do this game within Second Life but it turned out not to be a good idea. The crystals are easy enough to find which she decided to pick up every one she saw. She reached a cave and kept getting crushed by falling rocks so would end up returning to the point she started. Let's just say you could hear the girlish screams every time she tried to avoid those falling rocks. She told me that she tried to run through the cave with no luck. Just when she thought she was safe then she would get slammed by another one. The scenery here is well nothing short of newbish but I thinking that is the whole point of the game is to make it look newbie friendly. Not to mention if there was too much stuff here then it would lag even worse than it already was being felt. Its a fun game if you just want to grab crystals but never get anywhere. We personally found that making actually Lindens from it just wasn't going to happen. You have to find some tricks to get through this place. Sadly, we became frustrated by it and stopped when we couldn't get passed the cave part. Don't try to teleport to wherever that HUD leads you to most of the time on the map because you may end up in a place where it nothing but water but you can't move. In fact so much that we found that teleporting was a mistake since she couldn't even teleport to our home after that. You can only get zapped back to the same spot so many times before you scream in frustration and give up. It most likely will be a super game for people to play if they have a ton of patience still in Second Life. Perhaps new residents will appreciate it more than we did. We give it 3 stars out of 5 for the effort that was put into the game and the difficulty level. We are recommending it to people by even writing this blog post because we feel that everyone is different so you all might like it despite how we got frustrated by it all.

Xmas Time Of Year

I was super excited to see December creeping up on us because I actually have a real home land on Second Life where I can create a better xmas this year. I went all out and spent about a month searching Marketplace for new xmas decorations. You can't believe how many things are on the Marketplace just for xmas time but they don't have one thing which is the cartoon version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It is like my all-time favorite xmas movie that I have to see every year at least once. The only thing close to it was this sculpted reindeer that has a red nose so I bought it and placed it out in front of my sky house. I was ecstatic when I could finally buy that prim snow at Botanical since I have been eying it since last xmas. It amazes me how much it looks like real life snow but with this snow you don't get cold from it ever. I rezzed a couple of the snowflake making balls to make it look like it really is snowing outside when particles are on. A fireplace was my newest addition to the holiday theme inside of the house but it doesn't look right unless you have animated textures on. The flames flicker where it makes you feel all cozy sitting on this beanbag like chair that I have near it. I hung two stockings around it to make it look all festive. I decided to stay with the xmas tree that I used last year because it brings me such joyous memories of my first xmas on Second Life. I got it from MC Designs for a not too bad price considering how well made it is and it animates. I had to take the animation out of the reindeer since it made it go all distorted whenever it animated which ain't a good thing. I placed two pointsettia plants on the steps from the porch leading to the snowy yard of my sky house. It wouldn't be complete without the twinkling snowy pine tree that I bought from Botanical last year as well. I even made rugs and flags with textures that I designed myself for everyone I know this year. It adds a personal touch to my xmas decor also. My virtual daughter absolutely loves our home looking all festive.

A Lesson In Shapes

It came to my attention that people have a lot of difficulty finding nice shapes for their avatars in Second Life. I know all too well how that is since when I finally shed my newbie shape that I ended up spending like L$1000 on my first ever shape. You shouldn't have to spend an astronomical amount of Lindens just to get a shape. The fun part about creating an avatar that is your style is that you get to tweak it a bunch of times until it looks perfect on your screen to you. I found a great shape place about a year ago that they only sell their shapes for L$50 each plus you can try all the demo shapes in one folder. The shape I purchased looked fantastic as is but it took me a few months to get it tweaked to exactly the way I wanted it. If you have already practiced with tweaking shapes then you can make any of the shapes at Cupcakes into skinny, average, full figured, and such. I went for the skinny look with bigger than average breasts and a fairly flat butt. However, my shape is far from a clone of everyone else on Second Life since I added unique touches to it outside of the shape. I used to be taller than everyone I knew but now it seems I have gotten to be shorter than them which my shape is now at 5'8" in height (the same as my real life height measurements). There are times when I still tweak my shape because I think the shoulders look too odd or my face isn't like I would want it to be. My plan when I began tweaking my shape is to have my avatar's face look a lot like mine in real life but it definitely is not as easy as one would think. I still struggle to get it to look like the real me in face only. Let's face it, you are the one who will be staring at your avatar more than anyone else through the years so you may as well tweak it to your liking. I'm not a fan of the shapes that have wide hips and huge lips since I find it looks disgusting with a lot of skins. Of course it is a good shape if you are heavily into like elven roleplay but for everyday I don't think it is a good choice. You are just out for a frustrating journey in shape tweaking when you buy a shape that is like that. Any shape you can widen the hips, add body fat, shorten or heighten, make lips big or small, change the nose to unique or realistic, and so on. Also if you become pregnant on Second Life then you can easily tweak your current shape into a pregnant shape because why would you want to spend extra Lindens on a specially made pregnant shape for like only 9 months. That is just silly if you ask me. Remember the key rule that I learned when I purchased my first shape which is to make one or two copies of the original shape before you even start tweaking. After all, you don't want to go out socializing with your shape in the middle of tweaking so with the copying you are able to just change into the untweaked shape while you go out to socialize. I doubt though that once when you start tweaking the shape for the first time that you will even allow yourself to go out in public until it looks perfect. You will tweak it a lot since from experience I have tweaked my shape about 20 times in the past year. Good luck in your shape tweaking endeavors. Please know that even though I have provided the slurl to where I bought my shape that it doesn't give you permission to copycat my looks. If I see a copycat then I will just find a new shape and tweak it to death. I am unique in every way in both worlds so I would like my shape to remain just as unique.

A Trip to Low Cost Clothing

We start our journey to the store of AdN that is known for their grunge type clothing that looks great on any avatar shape. The designer likes to show a little skin with some of her clothing which who can honestly say that they don't like to show off as much skin as they can on their avatars. Plenty of lucky chairs can be found here for those who can't afford any Lindens. The pant outfits are to die for with the way they seem to hug to your avatar's body and they come in so many styles that your head may end up spinning. They have a fairy outfit that is a good choice for those who like the fantasy side of Second Life avatars. There is nothing in this store that cost more than L$99 so what you waiting for.

Another store on our journey is one of my newest favorites which is Enelya's Passion or better known as EC. It is also a clothing store that the outfits cost no more than L$99 and her clothing is phenomenal. I do have to warn you that some of her dresses are ones that have no glitch pants so you'll need to add your own pair of panties if you go to places that people may by chance see up your skirt. Don't let that deter you though because her clothing is so worth the going commando. From mini dresses to pant outfits to bodysuits within this store to purchase. The dresses will make you catch the eye of those men or gals that you want to notice you. Whether you looking for a mini dress to shake your butt while dancing or a pant set to relax in around friends then you will find it here. Join her group so you can try your luck at the Midnite Mania boards and lucky chairs too.

Lastly on our journey is the store of SAKIDE (formerly known as Sassy Kitty Designs) that is not as low priced as the previously mentioned but you can get the highest of quality separates for almost all under L$200. I own a great deal of clothing from this store so I know what I am talking about. Whether it be the adorable Empire Dresses or the low cut shirts or the unique varieties of pants, you will find everything you need to compliment each other. She sells neko gear as well but the clothing far outweighs the neko stuff which a lot of stores seem to be leaning away from neko stuff with their outfits. She likes to make new stuff especially for the holidays such as Halloween and Christmas which you will be running their to go on a mini shopping spree. Also she is known to discount specific colors from time to time so you can buy those colors you might not have tried otherwise. There are lucky letter boards and Midnite Manias here as well which is a way to give you a taste of her wonderful clothes.

Club Exotico

It is no surprise to those who know me that I rarely do the club scene thing now in Second Life. However there is one club that I make sure I go to whether there are events going on or not. It's a club that quickly became a second home for me due to the fact that it is so warm in the way they are to everyone who comes there. You don't see many clubs anymore who give off the vibe of family but this club does. The name of it is Club Exotico and over a year of me going there I have happily called it home. Like any home, you get the feeling that you belong to a part of it and are welcome with open arms no matter how life treats you. It is on an adult sim so you can escape any possibility of dealing with the immaturity of obvious teenagers in Second Life. New residents who come to this club are welcomed as warmly as those who have been going to the club for a long time. The DJs they have on staff are some of the best and bring the fun energy into the club with their conversing with the patrons on their stream as well as in local chat. The strippers employed at the club are sensual and classy which I've not experienced at any other clubs I gone to who have strippers. They always express their appreciation for tips from patrons with unique individual emotes to give you thanks. The hosts and hostesses on staff are known to have the biggest energy that you will ever find in the club scene. They'll make you want to use those gestures that may be collecting some dust because they as well as the patrons love to gesturebate. You won't want to just park your avatar at this club since it is so nice to be around these people that you won't be able to pull yourself away from the crowd for too long. Of course there is nothing wrong with the parking thing due to me being known to do that. I usually do that there when I am preoccupied with design stuff or finding things for my newly established studio. Even then, I always find myself beginning to joke around and being all around naughty around these people. If you are a shy person when it comes to the naughty stuff then this club will turn you into a gutter mind in no time. I got my gutter mind from the club over a year ago and I never looked back because it feels so good to be in-tune with that side of one's personality. I recommend this club 1000% so go check it out. Events usually happen Monday through Friday from 8pm to 10pm SLT. Make sure to join the club's group to know what events are happening. As I write this, they are currently looking for fresh faces to host, dance, or DJ which the more staff they get then the more likely more events will happen.

Peatonville Asylum Hunt

I haven't done many posts about my recommendations for places to see, things to do, and stores to go to so I figured I would try to do that more often. I like to go hunting on Second Life which most of the ones I ever did were for clothes but recently I discovered the fun of themed hunts. The hunt that I am recommended people to go do is the Peatonville Asylum hunt that is hosted by MadPeas gaming. I've heard that they do these type of hunts quite often so once when I finish this one then I look forward to the next one they will have. It opened for all those happy hunters out there on October 28th and closes on January 6th so people have plenty of time to check it out. However, you must know that unlike all those fashion hunts out there that are free is that this hunt costs a small L$100 fee to purchase the HUD. You need the HUD in order to do the hunt since it keeps track of all those 50 journal entries (called staff notes in HUD) and 50 soulstone shards. People are probably thinking how an approximately 3-month hunt game HUD is not worth that price but what you need to realize is that there are like 50 stores/places that have spent a lot of time making items for you to get when you find each soulstone shard. I think they are extremely generous in the prizes you get in this hunt. Of course the prizes are not the main fun part of this hunt because you will go through this eery building that is the asylum itself plus you have the outdoor grounds with 2 more little buildings to search through. I was particularly impressed with the decor they had in there which vary from bloody hospital beds to creepy pictures to some objects seeming to be avatar detecting so they start moving. The journal entries are not the only objects you have to seek in this hunt since you have to find an axe to open 2 doors, a coffee mug to fill with water, and a sledgehammer to break windows. I have to warn you that you will be going around in circles and get extremely frustrated doing this hunt. I know because I am still missing 7 journal entries from my hud so I won't be able to find all 50 soul stone shards that leads to the ultimate reward of a prize. Not to mention that even the shards in the places you have to teleport to are very hard to locate. I feel this is the best hunt for people to do that are as i call it in-between-relationships on Second Life due to the fact that you need to find things to do that will occupy your mind. I've spent almost 4 days on the hunt already and am determined to not stop until I find 50 entries and 50 shards. Did I mention that you will discover new stores and places while you do the soul stone shards hunting? I was totally awestruck when I found this store that has stuff for my new avatar look that I go there even if I not particularly looking for the shard which I've not found in that store yet. I have provided a slurl to the hunt, link to official website mentioning it, and a youtube video link which are below. Hope you all will enjoy this hunt as much as I have been.

To Be Skinny Or Not to Be

One evening, I was at a club on Second Life where the usual conversations among circle of friends were going on when this person asks why every woman on here wants to be skinny and short. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize why this is. People tend to alter their avatars to be fat when they want to make fun of the way overweight people look like in real life. No woman wants to come onto here to deal with the constant ridicule of body weight. Of course, people having big butts on here is more acceptable than full on overweight look. I am overweight in real life but when I come onto here I feel like sexy in this skinny perfect pixel. It is not a fun existence in life to be overweight because you are made fun of since your early years of school and way into your adulthood. I have found that only a small number of men prefer overweight women over the thin ones. It also makes more sense that avatars are skinny due to the fact that we hardly if ever eat in this world. Can you imagine Second Life with a bunch of overweight avatars? I don't think anyone can answer that as a yes unless they like their significant other as overweight. Every woman wants her man to love her skinny or overweight, rich or poor, and healthy or sick but that is adoring not only the Second Life self but also their real life self. I never care about looks in either world but I do have things on men I don't particularly like which are the super muscular look and the noobish look in avatars. I worked hard to get my avatar to look the way that I like to see everyday I am logged in so I appreciate men who took a fairly good amount of time on their avatar look. I wouldn't be with a overweight looking male avatar because it gives me bad memories of being at club events where they looked that way to make fun of overweightness. The whole idea of online dating is that you come to know the person based on their personality and not solely on how a pixel looks. I tend to refer to my Second Life self as a pixel when I am with any man since I don't want them to get used to a skinny body when I am the total opposite real life. Everyday I work hard in real life to hopefully be somewhat skinny which I feel that my avatar helps me to keep motivated to lose weight. However, I am not losing weight for the strong need to please the men who don't appreciate me for who I am but I'm doing it for my own health. The hard facts is that so many people see beauty as skinny but it really isn't since the most beautiful/handsome people in both lives are those who a nice in personality and don't set forth in life to deliberately hurt others. I know for me that nothing sexier in a man than his honesty and sense of humor.

Discovery of Epicness

Amazing how it takes pain in life to discover a brand new store that is in a different style of items from what I am used to with the neko way of life. I originally went to that store when I saw their stylish faun hooves on the Marketplace because I like to go to stores in-world to buy stuff if at all possible. We all know that Marketplace delivering items cannot exactly be relied upon lately. The shopping spree to turn myself into a faun elf the past week all started at the store called Epic and believe me when I say that they named the store perfectly since it is indeed full of "epic" awesomeness of items. I have about 3 pairs of faun hooves from that store and cannot wait to see what else the creator thinks of next to mix with hooves. Last night, I purchased a pair of high-waist jeans that include hooves from that store but I got it from the Marketplace store that they have. For some reason the store had been crashing me whenever I spend more than 10 minutes in there and it is beyond lagging so thank goodness for Marketplace actually working correctly. They have nice clothes there too as well as accessories. Now for the elf ears I chose to go to Illusory store which I had visited often simply to daydream about owning the pair of ears that I now own. What faun wouldn't be complete without antlers? Well I found the best ones at Illusory too which are like tree twigs instead of actual bone antlers. I prefer the non-conventional way of putting a faun avatar together. It had to still be me before I changed over to a faun so I kept my shape I worked hard to get perfect, tan skin that I adore, and the signature leopard spots on my body that people know as me now. I am still a neko in my soul as well as when I am working my model job at Bitter Bunnie Designs but we all need to make huge changes in life. Oh and I got the twitchy tail for my faun look at Epic too which I can't believe I went on the hunt for one on Marketplace when it was right there in the store I got the hooves. I think I look cute sexy but how men will react to it is probably going to be the same as the neko way I was for over a year. It seems any way of life on here that is not human seems to get some people asking questions as to why you are a certain way. Oh well.

Changes In The Air

I am the first to admit that my last relationship where I met the person on Second Life shook me up hard in that it made me crave to make some major changes in my life on here. It was something I never saw coming because I even saw in his eyes on webcam that he loved me but that never lasts forever. I was shaken when I found out what extremes he went to in order to dump me instead of just being man enough to say so. I couldn't log on as my neko self without having the constant reminder of him being my "king" to my "queen" title as a neko. It doesn't bother me to see my daughter as a neko but it did as myself. I spent days thinking about it all and realized that I would be happier turning my avatar into a faun elf. I find myself trying to move forward in my life with this new faun elf look but it not easy because he is still in my soul even if I wish I could just forget all about him. To say the least, I been feeling like a shell of my usual self. In time, I will find my way past all the pain and be able to have a good life without him. I am still a neko deep in my soul but life is better as a faun elf as it speaks to the shy strong side of my personality. Just like with my neko look, if anyone doesn't like it then they will just have to learn to deal with it because I am not changing what makes me comfortable.

September 11th is for Remembering!

I find myself deeply appalled at some people on Second Life today on September 11th. It seems like a couple of stores in real life that they have forgotten the tragedy that fell upon America 10 years from today. Honestly don't know how people can sleep at night after today is over with and be able to look at themselves in the mirror tomorrow. September 11th is a day to remember all who had lost their lives when they were murdered by planes crashing into buildings as well as those on the plane who saved the White House from the same fate as the World Trade Center towers. On top of mourning not only the deeply felt disaster I had seen that day and losing my first cat 2 years later on the same date, I have to deal with the onslaught of seeing or hearing about stores having 9/11 sales today and clubs having parties claiming to be honoring those who lost their lives today 10 years ago. I do not find partying on this day to be remembering those lost in that tragedy at all. People can party and shop any other day but today. I not saying that going to a club with no events or going shopping without a sale going on is disrespectful. I simply saying that the owners who do such things should be ashamed of themselves. It doesn't matter what country you in because every article I read about the memories of September 11th span the entire world with sorrow from people. I boycott any store or club who finds some kind of profit from September 11th events when they should be taking the day to reflect on what happened and hoping that those who passed away have finally found some kind of peace. If you have to hold events on this day then maybe you shouldn't own a store or club at all. I am disgusted by such people and will not shop at such stores who are having sales today for quite awhile if ever again. Never forget September 11th, 2001 and those who lost their lives. Blessed be to all those innocent people.

Mesh on SL Sucks!

I realized I haven't written in this blog in quite awhile but life in both worlds kind of grabbed me lately. I apologize for that to my readers.

Now I would like to touch on the new SL Viewer 3 that enables that mesh which is being spoken about a lot these days. I recently had to return to SL Viewer after being on the third party viewers for such a long time. However as this mesh part comes into play it is ruining the experience that is Second Life. I feel they have forgotten that not every user has top of the notch computers with amazing graphics on their computers so the mesh begins to effect everything on here. I know it is the mesh because I was on on the SL Viewer 2 before SL Viewer 3 with mesh came into existing. There are quite a lot of things I have noticed take longer to load or they don't load right at all. Everyone who knows me notices that I own a whole bunch of Truth hair and since mesh started then I have had like one-third of my Truth hairs in my inventory when I wear them begin to not load completely like they used to. I had to trade cat trees for my KittyCats breedables recently due to the fact that it was showing as nothing but 3D lines and balls which is unacceptable to me. Even my furniture in my home has suffered as they look like strange shapes instead of the smoothness I was accustomed to. You name it and I have pretty much been fighting with the way things look on and around me now. Luckily my loved ones still look good on my viewer because otherwise I would be on the support forums complaining about this so much that they will wish they kept those support tickets on the site or live support for us premium members. I mainly writing this blog in hopes that Linden Labs will see this and hear my plead to give up on this whole mesh thing. Sometimes evolving a 3D social network is not for the best. In some ways, I feel the mesh is a ploy to ruin all third party viewers and if that is the case then it is a total fail because they hurting those on SL Viewer as well. I am sure I am not the only one who misses the good ole days before mesh on Second Life. Believe me, when my neko tail and ears begin to look wrong on me due to them not rezzing all the way then I will be on those support forums complaining. No one messes with my neko stuff! Messing with my cats, hair, and furniture is just nearing me to the edge of perturbed. Say no to mesh! Say yes to Second Life without mesh!

Sharing Chat Logs IS Against SL TOS

Surprisingly, my goal of proving that the countless claims in profiles that these users are allowed to share anything that is logged in private or in local chat is all right as long as they post that claim in their profile wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The problem is that people can't manage to read the Terms of Service (TOS) for Second Life correctly as it was written. It is clear as the day in the sunlight without rain in the Community Standards part of the TOS guidelines that what is in people's profiles is against another person's privacy rights. I have decided to write a quote from Community Standards #4 titled Disclosure:  "Remotely monitoring conversations in Second Life, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without the participants' consent are all prohibited." Now it is proven that saying in your profile that you can share conversations that are logged at your discretion with or without the other person's permission is against the TOS. I would strongly suggest that everyone take that profile pick statement out of their profile. Trust me if I see anything in someone's profile that I said posted there without my consent then I will speak to you if I know you but if I don't know you then I will report you for abuse of the TOS guidelines. I know its a sad day in your Second Life when you realize by reading my blog that you are infringing on other people's privacy by posting logs quoted without that person's consent. You can all cry now about it. I am informing everyone so they know the truth on those profile picks' claims are totally against TOS of Second Life and of course if you continue to do it that your account is in serious jeopardy. I don't need to write a long drawn out blog about this because it is right there in the Second Life TOS pages to read yourself. Posting disclaimers on your profile about that TOS guideline doesn't make something illegal anymore legal than it was before.

Read the TOS for Second Life:  http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php

Also read this about privacy rights:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privacy

The sooner you read to learn how things work, the better off everyone will be on here. You can only share logs to Second Life support when reporting or inquiring about something being abusive, harassing, or so forth. I believe even sharing private conversation logs with club, store, or Sim owners is against the TOS guidelines. However, if you need someone banned then public local chat logs is most likely allowed to be shared privately with a club, store, or Sim owner. Otherwise it is against another person's privacy rights.

Drama Drama Drama

You know it is usually us females who are seen to be dramatic in so many ways even if what we say is in private and not really considered as drama. I saw today the biggest example of a drama king to the highest order. I was shocked to say the least to see so much hatred and drama in one guy's profile picks that I was thinking to myself "how can he ever love with this much hatred?". It was beyond ridiculous the junk in his profile picks which actually they border on abusive. I was told months ago that there is a mute button for a reason so why aren't these people using it? I will tell you why. It is plain and simple that they love the drama that comes from it and in turn they stir their own drama. I don't even know this guy but even without him attacking me personally I felt offended. Apparently he sees all women on Second Life as his personal kick toys to treat like garbage. I been on here for over a year but you don't see me using my profile as an attack zone. No matter how much you have been hurt on here, posting endless angry picks in your profile is not going to make it any better. It makes me wonder if people who do that realize that you are only giving those who hurt you or your friends the power over you. You may as well say in your profile picks, "Haters you have destroyed me and I'm going to show everyone on Second Life just how much you harmed me" but in the end the haters win and you come out looking like a douche-bag in your profile. I prefer perving profiles of people who share their happy times while listing people who have touched their lives on here the most. Oh yeah and putting down an entire other country in your profile ain't going to fix things in your life or that country's life. There is a wonderful motto out there which is "If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all" and obviously some people with crass things in their profiles need to learn that. You can dislike a country's government but when you put down the citizens then that is where I draw a line. People with profiles like this are lucky that I have given up reporting people for such junk. I am doing research into the whole TOS statements in people's profiles where I'm hoping to prove that all these people with those statements are breaking TOS rules of Second Life. I firmly believe that at some point in time that one of the many official Linden Labs representatives will read my blog and put a end to some of the problems constantly occurring in-world.

Clubbing Isn't Me

I've come to the realization lately that I have grown out of the whole club scene on Second Life. It seems like clubs are now seen to me as chaos, crowdedness, and noise which I am not into it in the real world so why should I go to such places on here. This is not a new feeling to me since the way I have felt about clubs has pretty much spiraled down from the moment I left my club job as a dancer/hostess back in March 2011. Its not fun to go clubbing when you are expected to shell out tips of Lindens which you barely have. I hardly spend the Lindens I do have even on myself nowadays. When you come to the reality that if you save up you Lindens that you can trade it in for real money then you no longer want to throw Lindens around like it is pennies. Lindens are not seen as worthless exchange of money but pennies in the real world have slowly become a pain to have since you can't spend them on anything really. I work currently at least 18 hours a week modeling on here which only one of them actually pays me good. I've put in a few applications for club work in the past few months but now I have decided that I am not suited for club work. Never have I ever really liked those gestures that constantly go off in clubs. In the long haul, I find them beyond annoying which is why I hardly if ever use gestures and I mute gesture sounds when I can. I am a serious worker and that kind of worker is not welcome at club staff. Clubs like to have people who are full of energy, can deal with hearing the same songs played over and over again, enjoys gesterbating, and doesn't like to truly have a conversation. Don't get me wrong, I still adore this club who is like a second home to me on here but I prefer it when its not event time and its quiet. I'm a book reader and nature lover in real life where clubs and bars are so far away from me that you'd have to take a long airplane flight to see the distance I put clubs/bars from myself. Such places are just not for me and since I have blended Second Life with real life so much then I don't see the reasoning in doing things that make me miserable on here. Nothing feels worse than going to a club and feel like you being ignored by most of the staff because you are not in the mood to throw your hard earned Lindens to people. I happily tip a live singer and/or the venue because they actually play an instrument then sing songs that they wrote or songs which have touched their souls. Sadly, I don't feel DJs work super hard for their tips since I heard one DJ months ago even admit that they just cue up a player like SAMS then they let it play the songs. Also slowly DJs are talking less and less on air which only makes me feel like they going away from keyboard a lot while ignoring their patrons. The way I see it, more a DJ speaks is the more I respect them. Although I would never be a stripper on Second Life or real life, there is a lot of respect you have to have for them because they make you feel like your tips ain't being wasted by the long emotes they type out to show their appreciation. Gesturing to say "thank you for the tip" is not cool. I have come to prefer hearing my name over a stream saying thanks or get emoted in thanks when I do tip. When I was a hostess at a club, I always made every single person who tipped feel special even if it was only like L$20 but then I am a rare type of worker on Second Life. I have nothing against clubs. I simply saying that it not for me anymore.

Promises to Myself for 2nd Year on SL

These are some promises I vow to myself for this whole 2nd year on Second Life which some will seem mean to people but oh well.
  • I will be myself and stop being a puppet to other people I not know very well.
  • No more tipping excessively. From now on, only live musicians will be getting tips from me.
  • Refuse to give into guilt trips either said in chat, IM, groups, or in profiles.
  • Don't buy things unless I have the Lindens from my paid jobs on SL to pay for them.
  • Stop giving into temptations of any kind.
  • Be proud of who I am in SL and in real life despite what others may say.
  • Trust only those who have shown they deserve it.
  • Give up on the whole blood doll thing because that was just a disaster from the start.
  • Don't wait around for people to spend time with me. Do other things instead.
  • Only go to clubs when I feel like it and not when others want me there.
  • Try to make an effort to spend more time with those who do love me. And ignore the ones who don't.
  • Spend more time off SL and do things RL I love doing like spending time with my cat.
  • Don't refuse gifts from friends/loved ones. Instead refuse them from people I hardly know since basically strangers always have some bad motives behind it.

Delights in My SL World

These are the things and people on Second Life that bring me smiles each day:
  • The sound of my daughter's binkie suckling.
  • Silly AO that my daughter wears
  • Swimming in the waters of SL
  • Being looked after by my Protector
  • Chatting with my sisters, Protector, brother, and vampiress
  • Dancing whether it be solo or couple
  • Relaxing at my land that is totally owned by me
  • Riding my hovering broom
  • Listening to my live musician friend play
  • Helping out a customer who shows great appreciation
  • Winning on lucky letter boards or chairs and Midnite Mania boards
  • Being in a man's arms when I know he truly wants to be with me
  • Exploring new or old nature sims
  • Knowing I have a few friends who are always going to be there for me
  • Taking snapshots because they always turn out better than the real life me pictures
  • Feeling free to be silly when I want to be
  • Truth hair!! Yeah had to name one thing.
  • Calmly playing a game of greedy without caring about who wins
  • Rollerskating or ice skating since I can truly do that on SL
As the song, "And these are a few of my favorite things" which they truly are. :)

Ignorant People

Okay so as always my virtual daughter was roaming away from our home on her own. She decided to go to this place that I got a landmark to that has the cutest faery shoulder and head pets. She was waiting around the lucky letter boards to win some faeries which she won almost all of them then she bought one for her head to be worn. Well there was three people standing there that weren't child avatars and one of them sounds off this gesture which I have one myself like that I use in this adult sim club. A store is not the place for such obnoxious gestures anyway. She kindly tells the woman that there is a child present at the store so if she would not play such gestures would be more respectful. The woman tells my daughter that there are no children in Second Life but only adults. Again that is untrue because teenagers from 13 years old and up are on here nowadays. However, my daughter didn't see the sense in making the woman understand how child avatars deserve respect and treated like a real life child so she muted the woman. I taught her well and she can fend for herself when she is out on her own. They never realize that even if her mommy (which is me) ain't with her that I am in fact close by somewhere so they may just find themselves reprimanded right here on my blog or her blog for being rude "meanies" to her. You do not treat my daughter like her feelings don't matter and get away with it. She may be an adult using a child avatar but that don't change the fact that everyone needs to treat her like any child on the real life streets and stores. Only difference is that instead of her running off crying like a real child may do, she will speak up for herself. My daughter was created to be a stronger version of me as a child and she does a great job being just that. Next time when people think of using obscene gestures or swear in front of my daughter will find themselves simply muted. I advised her to not even bother reasoning with adults like that because they can't even phantom how hard it can be being a child avatar on Second Life. I hope that these people who are rude to my daughter never have a child avatar themselves since I would hate for her to hang out with child avatars that are raised by such adult avatars. I despise people like that. They remind me of real life parents who don't care what they say in front of their children and they let their children run wild basically. I would expect the way she was treated to happen at an adult size clothing store with no child clothes but never at a faery pet store since they should know that child avatars will show up. I'm sure she will not be the last child avatar or parent of a child avatar to tell them to stop it.

No More Auto Greeters

Firstly, I want to mention that this is totally my opinion on things. Everyone knows by now that I work as a model at three different stores so through that time I have noticed a few things. Before I even modeled I knew how I felt on the subject of auto greeters. Plain and simple is I don't like them. You are hired as a live model where you are expected to personally greet each customer that comes to the store. When I used to be just another customer at a store which I model at, I wouldn't even say hello back to the models who use auto greeters and I still pretty much ignore what those say. I do not feel welcomed by a model if they can't even type out a "hello". It don't take much effort type out someone's name except maybe the super long ones or the display names that you can't tell what the letters are. A simple solution to typing out the store name and that you are there to offer assistance is to make your own gesture to trigger it on whenever a customer comes by. I know because I used to type all of that out for each customer when I was in my first couple of weeks modeling but I quickly learned that just me saying "hey" to a customer is showing that I am here and its personal to help them. I don't know if the whole using a auto greeter is a way to disconnect from the customers but it kind of makes some customers feel like that. The biggest reason why people use auto greeters is so they can go away from keyboard and hopefully no one on staff will come by to notice that. I multi-task a little bit when I model but I try my hardest to type out the greetings as fast as possible. Have I thought of getting an auto greeter? There are times I wish I had one but then I remember how I felt as a customer being greeted constantly by them. You really have to be more personal when you use auto greeters. For example, the auto greeter will ticker off the welcome message to the customer's name so you should move onward to typing out a "hello" or "how are you?" which would make them feel you really there. Showing that you are there and care about their business makes you a better model. I rather have like three customers in my private message box asking me where items are or any other kind of help than have no one. It is why I will never own a auto greeter. Now auto greeters used at clubs is just off-the-charts lame because you are counting on tips at clubs so using one of those devices is going to kill your tips amount. At a club, your main mission is to socialize with the group as much as you feel is enough so more tips will come in for you and the DJ or live musician. I am amazed that auto greeters haven't been totally frowned upon by stores with models and at clubs. Trust me if I owned a club or store then that is the first thing on my list of things not to wear/use while working. No one wants me as a owner or manager because I may seem fragile but you get me in a leader role and I will be tough as nails.

Keep Version 1 Viewers Alive

I am a huge fan of version 1 viewers to use for Second Life since they have always been the most stable for me. When people make more and more of the version 2 viewers that have higher graphics usage as well as taking up a lot of computer resources then they forget that many people who come onto Second Life have laptops. I mean laptops are the wave of the future with being able to have it anywhere and anyplace. I tried Firestorm recently since I don't like how SL Viewer 2 crashes me all the time but what seemed to be a nice play on Viewer 2 turned out to be utter disaster. Firestorm it seems is not developed for wireless internet laptop users. I applaud anyone who it actually doesn't drain tons from your laptop while using it. I watched as my wireless internet connection went from 5 bars to only 3 bars for the connection speed while on Firestorm then watch it go back to 5 bars when I closed Firestorm or during its crashes. Something is not good thing when it drains connection speed. I couldn't deal with Phoenix acting up on me which I assumed it was doing that to me the past few weeks because they slowly working on closing down Phoenix viewer for the new Firestorm. It is sad really since Phoenix was working superbly for me for so long. I proceeded to look for other viewers which I knew Imprudence was not good for me after the last time I tried it and had it freeze on me so quickly into logging in. I had heard rave comments on Kirstens viewer so I downloaded it and was about to log in when my anti-virus thing went off letting me kow that this program was not safe for my computer. Hell no I am not going to use a program that does that. I'm smart enough to run away from things that potentially have a virus or open wide to hackers. No offense to Kirstens viewer but I like the health of my laptop more than getting onto SL. Now Singularity viewer didn't have a good start with me after it crashed instantly after log in but I decided to give it another try since I really didn't have any other options left on the list of third party viewer. I guess a lot of developers gave up on making new third party viewers for some unknown reasons. However, Singularity is a nice little viewer for logging into SL since it gets it done without any fancy extras to it so I can log on and go to my jobs then spend time with those I wish to be around. I had to lessen the distance rate for Singularity since I figured that and the fact that I got attacked by like 6 groups when I logged in then I might not crash much. I do wish they had the features such as mute gesture sounds because those annoy me to no end. I can't ask people to stop playing those loud gestures since I have some of my own that I use occasionally but I shouldn't have to hear the sounds associated with them. Hopefully, Singularity will provide that in there next update. ~knocks on wood this will be the last viewer I ever download~ It doing a nice job and here's to hoping.

You're a Noob if...

You are a noob if you ask someone for Lindens.
You are a noob if you beg for someone to buy you anything.
You are a noob if you ask someone to give you an item you wearing. (A lot of things ain't transferable so duh!)
You are a noob if you cam into or try to sit in someone else's home.
You are a noob if your lack of AO screams out that you are. (People with no AOs are usually too cheap to even buy clothes so they become beggars when they want something)
You are a noob if you think it funny to bump or push people.
You are a noob if you do noob dances that look so stupid that you must know how idiotic you look.
You are a noob if you not realize that most people make Lindens by working and you should do the same.
You are a noob if you IM someone to date you and when they ignore you then you proceed by following them around like an annoying insect.
You are a noob if you want sex with someone and you lack the proper equipment that doesn't make us crack up laughing instead of be turned on. (This applies to male noobs)
You are a noob if you test gestures constantly at stores. (Stores ain't the place for gestures especially the obscene ones. We know gestures accidentally trigger but we know the difference.)

More will be added as I think of them or come across more noobish behavior.

Realizations

One day you wake up realizing that things are the way they are in your life but it shouldn't stop you from continuing onward to find what keeps you going. As I have mentioned in the previous posts is that life for me has pretty much been through the ringer. I just keep on trucking along despite it all since I have learned through the years to sometimes let crap just run its coarse. No one can fix what crap you dealing with but you can spend time with people who truly want your company. I've even started the process of making my real life better although that takes time to accomplish fully. Sometimes you know that Second Life cannot be a way to escape from real life not being what you had dreamt it would be when you were like some teenager. Only thing that this life should do for people is to meet those who they would never meet in real life due to distance and to get the dream place you always wanted but cannot afford in the real world. It took me over a year to find the home that will make me feel most relaxed at because like real life it is never easy to find the place that is totally right for you. Now all I need is a man's body to keep me warm on my new snowy home. I have yet to find anyone who wants to volunteer to do that every day without complaints. I know I was in a cab real life today and this cab driver was saying "No man has snatched up a pretty girl like you with a beautiful smile". I thought it was nice of him since he wasn't fishing for tips or anything either but was simply being genuine. Most who say such things have known me forever where they dear friends or from men who only want something back in return. I getting too old for it all anymore as I see my 34th birthday about to come around the bend next month. I am to the point of saying to men, "If you want me so much then put a ring on my finger to show it". Anyone can do the whole casual thing but it takes someone extraordinary to want to spend forever with you. So where is my extraordinary man who is my soul mate? Hmmm.

On the Move Again

It takes crap to hit the fan on Second Life for you to crave extreme change. Last time I went through so much on here I decided to change my shape and skin but I don't feel like doing that this time because I am happy with the way my avatar looks now. She could use a little bit of tweaking to look more like me in real life in the face area. Other than that, she is perfect and what I imagine myself looking like. I decided I missed owning land where I can have it in my name and set to my friend group so I did it. I knew that renting land with tier fees just totally sucked to the point that it took all my money in real life to keep up the rent. It took forever it seemed to find a land on mainland that I'd be happy to own without regrets. Hell, I have had enough regrets in the past couple of weeks that I've learned to think things over before I do anything. By having this land it puts me right smack dab into the range of Lindens I will spend per month. The great thing about owning land on the mainland is that no estate owner can just without warning close the estate so you have to move and feel like it was a waste of money. Not only that but the cost of it goes straight to your account where it is added to the cost you spend on premium membership. If I could have gotten more square mileage then I would have since I like the log cabin I have but i had to squeeze it into the plot of land. I had forgotten how much a pain in the butt rezzing a building can be as you move it about before saving it then taking the box back into inventory. I had a smaller cabin but the furniture was attached it which I was thinking the whole time "what kind of idiot attaches furniture to a home since people like to move the furniture around at least". I was not happy with that purchase and wish I could get my Lindens back. I ended up terraforming the land to death trying to get the cabin to fit better but all I ended up with was hitting barriers into another person's parcel so I just let it go. Bummed me out to have to get rid of the nice front porch on it but I had to in order for it to fit at all. After all that, I was thinking I should have just got two small cabins and let it be at that. I happy though. I need to buy a privacy screen of snowy trees for when neighbors will move in. The one thing I remember from owning all the land I have in the past is that people respect your privacy more than on rented houses or premium house which is what I desired. I didn't like having a neighbor bothering me when I had company although that is water under the bridge now. Here's to hoping this will be my final move on Second Life. I grow so tired of constantly moving.

July 4th? Whatever

Last year, I experienced the best first Second Life July 4th ever and I was so looking forward to it again this year. However now that my life on here has taken a downward spiral into an absolute black abyss then I just don't feel like doing anything today. I will just go to my jobs on here and forget what day it even is. I don't deserve to have fun or anything. I been threw so much in the last year on here that nothing seems to matter anymore. All I do is go to my model jobs and stare at lucky chairs to pass the time away. I even thought about quitting Second Life when all hell hit the fan which it isn't the first time I have thought of doing that. Sometimes it doesn't seem worth it to be on this virtual world anymore. Just like real life is if you don't have love on Second Life then nothing means a damn thing anymore. They say you have to be happy to be alone before you can love another but I say that is a bunch of bull. When you lose love and you alone then may as well be dead instead. I just regret everything in the past week and will never be able to live with myself with the mistakes I made.

Lies and More Lies

I learned something this week in Second Life which I know that it is always a learning experience on this place. I spent a year on here making sure that I never fall for vampires because they just can't be trusted. I have friends who are vampires or in clans as humans which I only trust them since they don't treat people like I have seen so many vampires treat others. I fell for complete lies of a vampire where I had to find a way to never have to deal with him ever again. It hurt me beyond belief because before it all happened I had made a huge mistake to leave someone I love very much. Not only did I have to pay Lindens to get a potion to give my soul to a vampire friend I trust but I also had to deal with the pains I have done and gone through due to this confusing time. I don't wish this pain on anyone. What I am trying to say by posting this blog is that if you are ever going to be a blood doll, vampire, or lycan on Second Life then make sure you know this person who you will give your soul to when they bite you or claw you for a loooong time. I should never have trusted this person. Anyone will spin a web of lies just to get your soul on their profile for that Bloodlines game so it will make them look better in it. I'm sorry but if you have to lie to get a soul then you should rot in hell. Especially don't mess with someone who knows like 3 people in the Bloodlines game who will make you rule the day you ever messed with me. I am nice but I have friends who will not be so nice to you when I get hurt. I just hope I can fix things with the person I love who saw me with this wretched vampire and got deeply hurt by it. If I have lost the man I love forever then I will personally pound a stake in this vampire's heart so deep in that he will never be able to drink another ounce of blood for as long as he is in the Bloodlines game. I publicly and profusely apologize to the man I hurt even though I never stopped loving him.

I have been so opinionated lately that I thought for a change that I would post a light topic. Don't want anyone to think that I have turned into the wicked witch of Second Life. Oh wait I do have a hovering broomstick that I always wanted now. Hahaha

Exploring at Its Best

When I first joined Second Life I didn't expect anything from it. You spend your first few weeks roaming around different sims getting a feel for this world. At some point you find yourself at some club and engulfed with socializing up to your neck. There are times you feel yourself becoming some kind of fake with having to begin doing things that you never imagined yourself ever doing in your life. It usually ends up that you are just in the wrong club for you altogether. I been to quite a lot of clubs in my past year on Second Life so I know that it takes a special club to make you feel comfortable being yourself. I am known to be in a club where I say absolutely nothing the whole time. Some clubs you rather listen to the DJ playing tunes than socialize with anyone there. You may find a lot of people who go to clubs on here will as they call it "park" their avatar there while they do other stuff either online or in real life. I tend to do that myself. Nothing wrong with that. Clubs sometimes give off this aura that you can leave your avatar there without watching it and be safe. Black Horse Country is the essence of calm and fun all wrapped up in one that even if country music ain't your thing then you still like coming there. Club Exotico has become my home away from home with people who are so energetic and kind that you want to go there. I also recommend Club Delirium as the place to hang if you want to hear nice tunes around lots of people. Next comes the other hangout places such as cafes and parks, sadly a lot of those go out of style or change way too much. I remember when I started that I went to this one cafe like everyday when I logged on. Nowadays, it has moved so many times and changed so much that the good vibe memories of it are just gone. Places on here that you had so much memories at can be depressing when they are not at all what they used to be. This cafe I speak of used to have the mix of everything I enjoy on Second Life which is outstanding nature scenery, calming atmosphere, and lots of wonderful people to chat with. The past couple of weeks, it has been moved and reduced to nothing but a mundane looking Starbucks which makes me want to cry when I remember seeing it like that. No one really goes there anymore. They used to have the biggest traffic numbers for any non-club that I have ever seen and now it is down to like maybe 800 tops a day. I will miss that cafe because it was such a huge part of my Second Life so much that I practically begged to go back there when things got a little heavy between me and the owner. Now, I'd like to touch on the majestic beauties of nature sims around this virtual world. People who make them spend a lot of time thinking of how it should look and feel so much that you can tell this by simply spending a lot of hours sitting in a certain area. They place nature sounds to add to the calming atmosphere so you almost feel like you are somewhere real life. It is the ambience of sounds, trees, plants, and builds that make a nature sim the perfect place to sit back and let yourself be transported to a mediation type emotion. Runestone is one of those nature sims that I lose myself at in a good way. Hawaii is so perfectly put together that you literally feel like you are in a tropical space in your mind. Lake Gnoma always makes me feel like I am up at camp relaxing in the water whenever I have gone there. Well I can't think of anything else to say about exploring but simply to do a search for destinations that you may like going to and landmark those places you really like going to.

Neko Isn't a Theme

All right so this subject has been on my mind for the longest time but I had forgotten about it until recently. I find it kind of insulting when I see like 3 clubs in one night have the theme of dress as neko. You can tell that the ones who run the events have never been a full time neko in their entire time on Second Life. People tend to treat it more like a contest theme than they do to respect it as a lifestyle choice on this realm. If you can’t respect how nekos feel when you have contests like that then don’t expect respectful nekos to come to those events. I don’t hate these clubs by any means. I just wish they would see nekos in a different light. Neko events should only be themed at clubs near neko stores or if neko items are being put up for grabs. The funniest part of such events is that the true nekos most times never win the contest when they enter it. It is like if you slap a tail and ears on for an event then that makes you neko. No I don’t think so. There is more to being a neko than just our tail and ears. You feel the nekoness flow through your veins in that real life you feel like a neko too without the tail or ears. I feel that clubs having tons of neko events should also have elf events often too. I mean let’s slap on some elven ears on then see how the elves on Second Life feel about their lifestyle being reduced to nothing but some contest theme all the time. I can think of tons of theme event ideas without ever having neko show up again. Seriously, enough already with those themes. It makes me know why so many people expect me to just take off my neko gear since people have no respect for the lifestyle whatsoever. If clubs need ideas for themes then ask me. Heck put me on the staff just to give theme ideas and pay me for it. I could use the Lindens. Be happy to make Lindens off of giving my ideas if it stops the whole neko themes altogether. Embrace the neko lifestyle for it is not just a 2 hour thing.

Ain't Happily Ever After

Many people tend to live in some kind of mirage when it comes to Second Life romances. Actually I should extend that to the entire online world since this is simply a portion of romance life that rarely extends into real life. Like you learned growing up is “Friends will come and go but family will always be there”. It is absolutely true in that statement. For those who have opened their hearts for love online can probably count on more than one hand how many significant others have left them through the years. I am no exception to this pain of giving then losing love countless times. Are there plenty of fishes in the internet sea? Yes there is. However, finding a fish that will swim for the long-haul is as hard as feeling a pea under a pillow of thousand pillows. You eventually give up trying for awhile until you get lonely being single. The whole point of getting close to a significant other online is in hopes that one day in the near future you both will meet in real life. Being with someone who will do that is rare even if you both live in the same state or close in mileage. If you find someone like that then you should hold on to them because that is a beyond special thing to have in your life. I haven’t been blessed with meeting someone special who would do anything to be with me in both worlds. Sure I have had guys say they would but let’s be honest here that it was usually to get what they wanted. Love is not a joy when you have to fight to get what you need or want in return. You come to the conclusion that without love being a two-sided street then you are better off being alone instead of being in a state of crying when the one you love doesn’t seem to care how you feel. Life can be rough enough without dealing with the pains of romance going sour. Sometimes it is good going solo and there are times when you need to be with another person to fulfill what your life is missing.
