Ignorant People
Okay so as always my virtual daughter was roaming away from our home on her own. She decided to go to this place that I got a landmark to that has the cutest faery shoulder and head pets. She was waiting around the lucky letter boards to win some faeries which she won almost all of them then she bought one for her head to be worn. Well there was three people standing there that weren't child avatars and one of them sounds off this gesture which I have one myself like that I use in this adult sim club. A store is not the place for such obnoxious gestures anyway. She kindly tells the woman that there is a child present at the store so if she would not play such gestures would be more respectful. The woman tells my daughter that there are no children in Second Life but only adults. Again that is untrue because teenagers from 13 years old and up are on here nowadays. However, my daughter didn't see the sense in making the woman understand how child avatars deserve respect and treated like a real life child so she muted the woman. I taught her well and she can fend for herself when she is out on her own. They never realize that even if her mommy (which is me) ain't with her that I am in fact close by somewhere so they may just find themselves reprimanded right here on my blog or her blog for being rude "meanies" to her. You do not treat my daughter like her feelings don't matter and get away with it. She may be an adult using a child avatar but that don't change the fact that everyone needs to treat her like any child on the real life streets and stores. Only difference is that instead of her running off crying like a real child may do, she will speak up for herself. My daughter was created to be a stronger version of me as a child and she does a great job being just that. Next time when people think of using obscene gestures or swear in front of my daughter will find themselves simply muted. I advised her to not even bother reasoning with adults like that because they can't even phantom how hard it can be being a child avatar on Second Life. I hope that these people who are rude to my daughter never have a child avatar themselves since I would hate for her to hang out with child avatars that are raised by such adult avatars. I despise people like that. They remind me of real life parents who don't care what they say in front of their children and they let their children run wild basically. I would expect the way she was treated to happen at an adult size clothing store with no child clothes but never at a faery pet store since they should know that child avatars will show up. I'm sure she will not be the last child avatar or parent of a child avatar to tell them to stop it.
